Crochet Tool Caddy

Materials

Yarn:

Note: Any Aran/Worsted weight yarn will work.

Tools:

  • 3.00mm Crochet Hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

* Stitches inside asterisk are repeated
,commas are used to indicate when stitches worked into one stitch slot ends. Example: 1 sc 1 dc 1sc, sl st  = 1sc 1 dc 1 sc into one stitch and then 1 sl st into the next stitch.

Note: Do not count beginning Ch1 as a stitch.

Begin Pattern..


Round 1:  

Create a Magic Circle, 6 sc, join.

(6 stitches)

Round 2:

6 scinc, join.

(12 stitches)

Round 3:

Ch 1, * 1 sc, 1 scinc* repeat * to * 5 more times, join.

(18 stitches)

Round 4:

Ch 1, * 2 sc, 1 scinc* repeat * to * 5 more times, join.

(24 stitches)

Round 5:

Ch 1, * 3 sc, 1 scinc* repeat * to * 5 more times, join.

(30 stitches)

Round 6:

Ch 1, * 4 sc, 1 scinc* repeat * to * 5 more times, join.

(36 stitches)

At this point, your diameter should be between 3-4 inches. If not you may need to adjust hook size or tension.


Round 7:
Ch 1, 36 sc BLO, no join.
(36 stitches)

Round 8-12:

36 sc.

(36 stitches)

Round 13:

36 sc, join.

(36 stitches)

Round 14:

Ch 1, 36 sc BLO, join.

(36 stitches)

Round 15:
Ch 1, *4 sc, 1 sc2tog* repeat * to * 5 more times, join. (30 stitches)

Round 16:
Ch 1, 3 sc, 1 sc2tog, Ch 4, sk 5, *3 sc, 1 sc2tog* repeat * to * once,
Ch 4, sk 5, 3 sc, 1 sc2tog, join.  
(24 stitches) count Ch’s as stitches except for beginning Ch 1.

Round 17:
Ch 1, *2 sc, 1 sc2tog* repeat * to * 5 more times, join. (18 stitches)

Round 18:
Ch 1, * 1 sc, 1 sc2tog* repeat * to * 5 more times, join. (12 stitches)

Round 19:
Ch 1, 12 sc BLO, no join.
(12 stitches)

Round 20-25

12 sc.
(12 stitches)

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing.

At this point your piece should look like……

I suggest stuffing the inside LIGHTLY at this point, leave room for the tunnels.

Note: You may also want to add a weight at this point to keep the caddy from rolling over, I personally did not do this.

Do this for each “hole” created in Round 16 above.


Round 1:
Join yarn to any stitch in the back loop, Ch 1, 9 sc BLO, no join.
(9 stitches)

Round 2-8:

9 sc

(9 stitches)

Fasten off, leave tail for sewing.

Put the tail of one of the tunnels on a sewing needle, insert the sewing needle straight down the tunnel until it comes out the bottom, push the tunnels into the cushion and sew into place. Repeat for each tunnel.

This is how your project should look from the top when finished.
