Hello Kitty – Amigurumi Pattern

Materials

 

Stitches Used

  • CH – Chain Stitch
  • SLST – Slip Stitch
  • SC – Single Crochet
  • DC – Double Crochet
  • SCINC – Single Crochet Increase
  • SCTOG – SIngle Crochet Together (decrease)
  • DC Cluster – Making a cluster stitch with 4 dc
  • BLO – Back Loop Only

 

Head

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, *2sc, 1dc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, *2sc, 2scinc in same st* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *2sc, 4scinc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (20 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, 3sc, *1scinc, 1sc* repeat x4, 2sc, *1scinc,1sc* repeat x3, 1scinc, slst to join to first sc. (28 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, 4sc, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x2, 1scinc, 1sc, 1scinc, 7sc, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x2, 1scinc, 1sc, slst to join to first sc. (31 stitches)

Round 6 – Ch1, 5sc, *1scinc, 1sc* repeat x6, 4sc, *1scinc,1sc* repeat x7, slst to join to first sc. ( 48 stitches)

Round 7-15 – Ch1, 48sc, slst to join to first sc. (48 stitches)

Round 16 – Ch1, 5sc, *1sctog, 1sc* repeat x6, 4sc, *1sctog,1sc* repeat x7, slst to join to first sc. ( 31 stitches)

Round 17 – Ch1, 4sc, *1sctog, 2sc* repeat x2, 1sctog, 1sc, 1sctog, 7sc, *1sctog, 2sc* repeat x2, 1sctog, 1sc, slst to join to first sc. (28 stitches)

Round 18 – Ch1, 3sc, *1sctog, 1sc* repeat x4, 2sc, *1sctog,1sc* repeat x3, 1sctog, slst to join to first sc. (20 stitches)

Round 19 – Ch1, *2sc, 4sctog* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Stuff  loosely with polyfill. Do not Overstuff.

Round 20 – Ch1, *2sc, 2sctog * repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (8 stitches)

Ch1 and cut yarn leaving a few inches to close the opening and weave in end. Lightly Fill with Polyfil and sew shut.

 

Ears – Make x2

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat once, Slst to join to first sc. (8 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc, 2sc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (10 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, *1scinc, 4sc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc (12 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc, 4sc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (14 stitches)

Round 6 – Ch1, *1scinc, 6sc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (16 stitches)

Ch1, cut yarn leaving a few inches to sew with and pull yarn through the chain to fasten off. Lightly Stuff with Polyfil.

 

Arms – Make x2

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 2sc, 1scinc, 3sc, slst to join to first sc. (7 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, 1scinc, 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (8 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, DC cluster st( 4dctogether), 2sc, 1scinc, 4sc, slst to join to first sc. (9 stitches)

Round 5-7 – Ch1, 9sc, slst to join to first sc. (9 stitches)

Ch1, cut yarn leaving a few inches to sew with and pull yarn through the chain to fasten off. Lightly Stuff with Polyfil.

 

Foot 1

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, 18sc in the blo, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 5-6 – Ch1, 18 sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Ch1, cut yarn leaving a few inches to sew with and pull yarn through the chain to fasten off.

 

Foot 2

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, 18sc in the blo, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 5-6 – Ch1, 18 sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 7 – Ch1, 18sc, 1sc into the first sc of “Foot 1”, 17 sc, slst to join to first sc of “Foot 2” (36 stitches)

Use the yarn end from “Foot 1” to sew the small opening between the feet together. Cut a circle from Plastic Mesh to put in the bottom of each foot.

 

Continue Body

Using White Yarn

Round 8-10 – Ch1, 36sc, slst to join to first sc. (36 stitches)

Round 11 – Ch1, *4sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 12-13 – Ch1, 30sc, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 14 – Ch1, *3sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 15-16 – Ch1, 24sc, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 17 – Ch1, *2sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Ch1, cut yarn leaving at least 8 inches to sew with and pull yarn through the chain to fasten off. Stuff with Polyfil, Do not overstuff.

 

Assemble Hello Kitty Doll

  • Attach the Ears to the top of head (Round 1 of head being the top of head)
  • Attach the head to the body by using the tail end left over from the body and attaching to the head around the 17th round. This will give you the most support.
  • Attach the Arms to the body between the 15th and 17th round.

 

Bow

Using Pretty n Pink Yarn

Row 1 – Ch13, sc in second ch from hook, 11 sc. (12 stitches)

Row 2-8 – Ch1, turn, 12sc. (12 stitches)

Ch1, and cut yarn leaving a long tail, bunch the bow in the middle and wrap the tail around the center, leave a few inches to sew onto the head right below the ear.

 

Dress

Using Pretty n Pink Yarn

Round 1 – Ch 30, join to a round

Round 2-4 – Ch1, 30sc, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, *4sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (36 stitches)

Round 6 – Ch1, 36 sc, slst to join to first sc. (36 stitches)

Round 7 – Ch1, 1sc, sk 1 sc, *3dc in same st, sk 1 sc, sc, sk 1 sc*  repeat x8, slst to join to first sc. (9 shells

Fasten off and weave in the end.

Row 1 – At top of the dress, join yarn 11 sc to the left of seam. 8 sc.

Row 2 – Ch1, turn, 1sc, 1sctog,2sc, 1sctog, 1sc. (6 stitches)

Row 3 – Ch1, turn, 2sc, 1sctog, 2sc, Ch 15, fasten off. Join yarn to other corner, Ch 15, fasten off.

Put dress on Hello Kitty, Criss cross chain straps in the back and sew ends to the 3rd sc from seam.

Final Touches

Use Yellow Needle Felt to create the nose 6 rounds up from the neck. Use Black needle felt to create the eyes one round up. Use black needle felt to create the whiskers, the middle whisker should be straight and in line with the eyes.
