- I love this Cotton! Yarn in Bright Green
- Polyfil
- Brown Chenille Stems “pipe cleaner”
- Yarn Needle
- Beaded Keychain Clasp
Stitches Used
- CH – Chain Stitch
- SLST – Slip Stitch
- SC – Single Crochet
- HDC – Half-Double Crochet
- SCINC – Single Crochet Increase
- SCTOG – Single Crochet Together (decrease)
Preparing the Stem
Cut 3 inches of brown pipe cleaner, fold in half and twist together starting AT THE FOLD to the halfway point. Leave the ends untwisted. Bend the ends straight out in opposite directions, then bend the tip of the ends down. See Picture.
Leaf
Using Bright Green Yarn and 2.0 mm hook.
Row 1: Ch 13
Row 2: 3 sc in 2nd Ch from hook, 3 sc in each chain to end of row. (36)
Fasten off leaving an end for sewing.
Pumpkin
Using Orange Yarn and 2.5 mm hook
Round 1: Create a magic circle, work 6 sc in magic circle, join. (6)
Round 2: Ch 1, 6 scinc, no join. (12)
Round 3: *1 scinc, 1 sc* repeat * 5 more times. (18)
Round 4: *2 sc, 1 scinc* repeat * 5 more times. (24)
Round 5-8: 24 sc. (24)
Round 9: *2 sc, 1 sctog* repeat * 5 more times. (18)
Round 10: *1 sctog, 1 sc* repeat * 5 more times. (12)
Stuff your pumpkin and add the stem, also add your key chain by inserting the chain through one stitch, and then out a stitch on the opposite side, on the row just completed.
Round 11: 6 sctog. (6)
Fasten off and sew tightly shut. Sew leaf on next to stem.
