Vampire Cape

Part 1:

Yarn Color: Wine Red

Row 1:Ch 31, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 29 sc.(30 stitches)
Row 2:Ch 1, turn, 30 sc.(30 stitches)
Row 3:Ch 1, turn, *1 sc, sc2tog, 2 sc* repeat * to * x6(24 stitches)
Row 4:Ch 1, turn, 24 sc.(24 stitches)

Row 6-10:Ch 1, turn, 30 sc.(30 stitches)

Fasten off and secure end. Set aside.

Part 2:

Repeat Part 1 with black yarn, do not fasten off. Cut the working yarn with a tail of about 18-24 inches, for sewing Part 1 and Part 2 together. Set Aside.

Part 3:

Yarn Color: Black

Row 1:Ch 50.(50 stitches)

Fasten off leaving a 3inch tail. Set aside.

Assembly:

Place Row 1 of Part 1 and Part 2 together so that the rows line up, using the tail end of Part 2, begin sewing the pieces together. In order to hide the black yarn on the red side, do not go all the way through the stitch as you sew the pieces together; instead go through just the back side of the stitch. Secure end when finished.

Put the tail end of Part 3 on your yarn needle, and feed it through the combined Part 1 and Part 2 piece, this should be at the level of Row 4(Rows 1-4 is Howl’s collar). Once satisfied with the placement, tie knots at each end of the chain so it does not come apart. Put the cape around your Howl or Frank, twist one end of the chain around the other twice and pull tight to secure.
