No Sew Dog Toy

Materials

Yarn:

  • Any yarn will work, I used a 4 weight yarn. 

Tools:

  • 3.50mm (E) Crochet Hook 
  • Scissors
  • Yarn Needle
  • Stitch Marker
  • Polyfil

*Stitches inside asterisk are repeated
,A comma is used to indicate when to move on to the next step in the round/row.

Special Techniques Used

Do not join a round unless the pattern says to do so. Otherwise, pieces worked in the round will be done in the spiral method.

Section A

Part 1

Round 1:Create a Magic Circle, 6 sc, no join.(6 stitches)
Round 2:6 scinc.(12 stitches)
Round 3:*scinc, sc* repeat x6(18 stitches)
Round 4-5:18 sc.(18 stitches)
Round 6:*sc2tog, sc* repeat x6(12 stitches)

Fasten off leaving a short 2-3 inch tail. 

Part 2

Leave a long starting tail, for sewing, before starting.

Round 1:Create a Magic Circle, 6 sc, no join.(6 stitches)
Round 2:6 scinc.(12 stitches)
Round 3:*scinc, sc* repeat x6.(18 stitches)
Round 4-5:18 sc.(18 stitches)
Round 6:*sc2tog, sc* repeat x6(12 stitches)
Round 7:Starting in the FIRST stitch of Round 6 PART 1, 1 scinc, 10 sc, leave the last st space unworked. Skip the first st on round 6 of PART 2, 1 scinc, 10 sc.(24 stitches)
Round 8:*3 sc, 1 sc2tog, 3 sc* repeat x3.(21 stitches)
Round 9:*1 sc2tog, 5 sc* repeat x3.(18 stitches)
Round 10:*2 sc, 1 sc2tog, 2 sc* repeat x3.(15 stitches)

Using the starting tail from the beginning of Part 2, sew the gap between Part 1 and Part 2 together. Stuff with Fiberfill. 

Continue to Section B.

Section B

Round 11-20:15 sc.(15 stitches)

Stuff with Fiberfill and Continue to Section C.

Section C

Part 1

Round 1:*2 sc, 1 scinc, 2 sc* repeat x3.(18 stitches)
Round 2:*1 scinc, 5 sc* repeat x3.(21 stitches)
Round 3:*3 sc, 1 scinc, 3 sc* repeat x3.(24 stitches)
Round 4:Sc 1, ch 1, sk 12 stitches, place a stitch marker on the first sk st, 4 sc, 1 sc2tog, 5 sc.(11 stitches)
Round 5:1 sc, sc in the ch, 10 sc.(12 stitches)
Round 6:*1 sc, 1 scinc* repeat x6.(18 stitches)
Round 7-8:18 sc.(18 stitches)
Round 9:*1 sc2tog, 1 sc* repeat x6.(12 stitches)
Round 10:6 sc2tog.(6 stitches)

Fasten off using the Amigurumi Close Method. Stuff the piece through the opening space and continue to Part 2.

Part 2

Join yarn to the stitch marked with the stitch marker.

Round 1:5 sc, 1 sc2tog, 5 sc, ch 1.(11 stitches)
Round 2:11sc, 1 scinc in ch space.(12 stitches)
Round 3:*1 sc, 1 scinc* repeat x6.(18 stitches)
Round 4-5:18 sc.(18 stitches)
Round 6:*1 sc2tog, 1 sc* repeat x6.(12 stitches)

Stuff the rest of the piece.

Round 7:6 sc2tog.(6 stitches)

Fasten off leaving a long tail and close using the Amigurumi Close Method. Using the tail end, sew up the space between Parts 1 and 2 for Section C to ensure that no stuffing comes out.
