Keroppi – Amigurumi Pattern

Materials

 

Stitches Used

  • CH – Chain Stitch
  • SLST – Slip Stitch

  • SCINC – Single Crochet Increase
  • SCTOG – SIngle Crochet Together (decrease)
  • BLO – Back Loop Only

 

Head

Using Spring Green Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, *2sc, 1dc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, *2sc, 2scinc in same st* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *2sc, 4scinc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (20 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, 3sc, *1scinc, 1sc* repeat x4, 2sc, *1scinc,1sc* repeat x3, 1scinc, slst to join to first sc. (28 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, 4sc, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x2, 1scinc, 1sc, 1scinc, 7sc, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x2, 1scinc, 1sc, slst to join to first sc. (31 stitches)

Round 6 – Ch1, 5sc, *1scinc, 1sc* repeat x6, 4sc, *1scinc,1sc* repeat x7, slst to join to first sc. ( 48 stitches)

Round 7-13 – Ch1, 48sc, slst to join to first sc. (48 stitches)

Round 14 – Ch1, 5sc, *1sctog, 1sc* repeat x6, 4sc, *1sctog,1sc* repeat x7, slst to join to first sc. ( 31 stitches)

Round 15 – Ch1, 4sc, *1sctog, 2sc* repeat x2, 1sctog, 1sc, 1sctog, 7sc, *1sctog, 2sc* repeat x2, 1sctog, 1sc, slst to join to first sc. (28 stitches)

Round 16 – Ch1, 3sc, *1sctog, 1sc* repeat x4, 2sc, *1sctog,1sc* repeat x3, 1sctog, slst to join to first sc. (20 stitches)

Round 17 – Ch1, *2sc, 4sctog* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Stuff  loosely with polyfill. Do not Overstuff.

Round 18 – Ch1, *2sc, 2sctog * repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (8 stitches)

Ch1 and cut yarn leaving a few inches to close the opening and weave in end. Lightly Fill with Polyfil and sew shut.

 

Eye Balls – Make x2

Using White and Spring Green Yarn

wsc – white single crochet

gsc – green single crochet

Round 1 – Create a magic circle, work 3wsc, 3gsc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1 in white, 3wscinc, 3gscinc, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1 in white, *1wscinc, 1wsc* repeat x3, *1gscinc, 1gsc* repeat x3, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1 in white, *2wsc, 1wscinc* repeat x3, *2gsc, 1gscinc* repeat x3, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 5-8 – Ch1 in white, 12wsc, 12gsc, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 9 – *2wsc, 1wsctog* repeat x3, *2gsc, 1gsctog* repeat x3, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 10 – Ch1 in white, *1wsctog, 1wsc* repeat x3, *1gsctog, 1gsc* repeat x3, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 11 – Ch1 in white, 3wsctog, 3gsctog, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Ch1 and cut yarn leaving a few inches to close the opening and sew. Lightly fill with polyfil and sew shut.

Ch 26, fasten off and sew around eyeball where the colors meet after you attach them to the head.

 

Foot 1

Using Spring Green

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, turn, working in flo, 9 slst, *slst, hdc in same, 1 tc, 1hdc, slst in same as hdc* repeat x3, slst to join to the back loop of first stitch.

Round 5 – Ch1, turn, 9 sc in blo, 9 sc into slip stitches of previous row, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 6-7 – Ch1, 18sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Ch1, fasten off and leave a small tail end to sew with.

 

Foot 2

Using Spring Green

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, turn,  *slst, hdc in same, 1 tc, 1hdc, slst in same as hdc* repeat x3, working in flo, 9 slst, slst to join to the back loop of first stitch.

Round 5 – Ch1, turn, 9 sc into slip stitches of previous row, 9 sc in blo, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 6-7 – Ch1, 18sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 7 – Ch1, 18sc, 1sc into the first sc of “Foot 1”, 17 sc, slst to join to first sc of “Foot 2” (36 stitches)

Use the yarn end from “Foot 1” to sew the small opening between the feet together. Cut a circle from Plastic Mesh to put in the bottom of each foot.

 

Continue Body

Using Sping Green Yarn

Round 8-10 – Ch1, 36sc, slst to join to first sc. (36 stitches)

Round 11 – Ch1, *4sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 12-13 – Ch1, 30sc, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 14 – Ch1, *3sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 15-16 – Ch1, 24sc, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 17 – Ch1, *2sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Ch1, cut yarn leaving at least 8 inches to sew with and pull yarn through the chain to fasten off. Stuff with Polyfil, Do not overstuff.

 

Arms

Using Spring Green Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, turn,working in flo, *slst, hdc in same as slst, 1tc, hdc, slst in same as hdc* repeat x3, 3slst, slst to join to first slst.

Round 4 – Ch1, turn, 3sc in slip stitches of previous row, 9sc in blo of previous row, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 5-10 – Ch1, 12 sc, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Ch1, cut yarn leaving a few inches to sew with and pull yarn through the chain to fasten off. Lightly Stuff with Polyfil.

Assemble Keroppi Doll

  • Attach the Eyes to the top of head (Round 1 of head being the top of head)
  • Attach the head to the body by using the tail end left over from the body and attaching to the head around the 17th round. This will give you the most support.
  • Attach the Arms to the body between the 15th and 17th round.
  • Use black felt to make the Iris in the eyes,

    • On the left eye, felt the iris slightly to the right of the center.
    • On the right eye, felt the iris slightly to the left of the center.
  • Use Pink Felt to create the cheeks between rows 6 and 9 from the neck.
  • Use black felt(or black yarn)  to create a large V shape for the smile.

Shirt

Using Paddy Green Yarn

Round 1 – Ch 36, sl st into first chain to join. (36 stitches)

Round 2-4 – Ch1, 36sc, slst to join to first sc. (36 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, *4sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 6-7 – Ch1, 30sc, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 8 – Ch1, *3sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 9 – *Ch5, sk 5, 7sc*, slst to join to first ch. (24 stitches)

Round 10 – Ch1, 24 sc, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Ch1 and fasten off, weave in ends.

 

Bow

Using Red yarn

Row 1 – Ch 6, sc in second chain from hook, 4 sc. (5 stitches)

Row 2-3 – Ch1, turn, 5sc. (5 stitches)

 

Ch1, fasten off, leave a long tail, bunch bow and wrap yarn around middle of bow. Sew on to the front of the shirt and put on doll.
