My Melody – Amigurumi Pattern

 

Materials

Stitches Used

  • CH – Chain Stitch
  • SLST – Slip Stitch
  • SC – Single Crochet
  • DC – Double Crochet
  • SCINC – Single Crochet Increase
  • SCTOG – SIngle Crochet Together (decrease)
  • DC Cluster – Making a cluster stitch with 4 dc
  • BLO – Back Loop Only

 

Head

Using Petal Pink Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, *2sc, 1dc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, *2sc, 2scinc in same st* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *2sc, 4scinc* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (20 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, 3sc, *1scinc, 1sc* repeat x4, 2sc, *1scinc,1sc* repeat x3, 1scinc, slst to join to first sc. (28 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, 4sc, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x2, 1scinc, 1sc, 1scinc, 7sc, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x2, 1scinc, 1sc, slst to join to first sc. (31 stitches)

Round 6 – Ch1, 5sc, *1scinc, 1sc* repeat x6, 4sc, *1scinc,1sc* repeat x7, slst to join to first sc. ( 48 stitches)

Round 7-14 – Ch1, 48sc, slst to join to first sc. (48 stitches)

Round 15 – Ch1, 5sc, *1sctog, 1sc* repeat x6, 4sc, *1sctog,1sc* repeat x7, slst to join to first sc. ( 31 stitches)

Round 16 – Ch1, 4sc, *1sctog, 2sc* repeat x2, 1sctog, 1sc, 1sctog, 7sc, *1sctog, 2sc* repeat x2, 1sctog, 1sc, slst to join to first sc. (28 stitches)

Round 17 – Ch1, 3sc, *1sctog, 1sc* repeat x4, 2sc, *1sctog,1sc* repeat x3, 1sctog, slst to join to first sc. (20 stitches)

Round 18 – Ch1, *2sc, 4sctog* repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Stuff  loosely with polyfill. Do not Overstuff.

Round 19 – Ch1, *2sc, 2sctog * repeat once, slst to join to first sc. (8 stitches)

Ch1 and cut yarn leaving a few inches to close the opening and weave in end. Lightly Fill with Polyfil and sew shut.

 

Ears – Make x2

Using Petal Pink Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4-12 – Ch1, 18 sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Ch1, fasten off leaving a tail of yarn to use for sewing. Lightly stuff with yarn. One ear should be sewn to fold slightly over.

 

Foot 1

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, 24 sc, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 6 – Ch1, 6sctog, 12sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 7-9 – Ch1, 18sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Ch1, Fasten off leaving a tail of yarn to sew the hole between legs closed.

Foot 2

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3 – Ch1, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 4 – Ch1, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, 24 sc, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 6 – Ch1,12sc, 6sctog, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 7-9 – Ch1, 18sc, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Round 10 – Ch1, 18 sc, sc into the first stitch of “Foot 1”, 17sc, slst to join to the first sc of “Foot 2”

 

Continue Body

Using White Yarn

Round 11- Ch1, 36sc, slst to join to first sc. (36 stitches)

Round 12 – Ch1, *4sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 13 – Ch1, 30sc, slst to join to first sc. (30 stitches)

Round 14 – Ch1, *3sc, 1scinc* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 15-16 – Ch1, 24 sc, slst to join to first sc. (24 stitches)

Round 17 – Ch1, *2sc, 1sctog* repeat x6, slst to join to first sc. (18 stitches)

Ch1, cut yarn leaving at least 8 inches to sew with and pull yarn through the chain to fasten off. Stuff with Polyfil, Do not overstuff.

 

Arm 1

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3-4 – Ch1, 12 sc, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, 3sctog, 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (9 stitches)

Round 6-9 – Ch1, 9sc, slst to join to first sc. (9 stitches)

Ch1, Fasten off leaving a tail to sew with. Stuff lightly with Polyfil

 

Arm 2

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Create a magic ring, work 6sc, slst to join to first sc. (6 stitches)

Round 2 – Ch1, 6scinc, slst to join to first sc.  (12 stitches)

Round 3-4 – Ch1, 12 sc, slst to join to first sc. (12 stitches)

Round 5 – Ch1, 6sc, 3sctog, slst to join to first sc. (9 stitches)

Round 6-9 – Ch1, 9sc, slst to join to first sc. (9 stitches)

Ch1, Fasten off leaving a tail to sew with. Stuff lightly with Polyfil

 

Face

Using White Yarn

Round 1 – Ch7, 1scinc in second chain from hook, 4sc, 4sc in same stitch turning to work down other side, 4 sc, 1 scinc. Do not Join. (16 stitches)

Round 2 – *1sc, 1scinc,4sc, 1scinc, 1sc* repeat once (18 stitches)

Round 3 – *2sc, 1scinc, 4sc, 1scinc, 2sc* repeat once (24 stitches)

Round 4 – 1sc, 1scinc, 9sc, 1scinc, 2sc, 1scinc, 9sc, 1scinc, slst to join to first stitch of row. (29 stitches)

 

Collar

Using Petal Pink Yarn

Row 1 – Ch19, 1sc into second chain from hook, 1scinc, *1sc, 1scinc* repeat x8. (27 stitches)

Row 2 – Ch1, turn, *2sc, 1scinc* repeat x9. Slst down side of work to starting chain, Ch3. Fasten off leaving a tail to sew with.

 

Assemble My Melody Doll

  • Attach the Ears to the top of head (Round 1 of head being the top of head)
  • Attach the head to the body by using the tail end left over from the body and attaching to the head around the 17th round. This will give you the most support.
  • Attach the Arms to the body between the 15th and 17th round.
  • Sew the Face onto the front of the head
  • Sew collar on around neck using the small chain to leave a space between ends.
