Reindeer Bauble Ornament

Crochet Reindeer Ornament Pattern

Materials:

Simply Soft Yarn:

  • Chocolate Brown
  • Black
  • Autumn Red

Paintbox Simply DK:

  • Light Caramel
  • Paper White

Crochet Hook 3.5mm

Yarn Needle

Scissors

White thread

3inch diameter bauble

Optional:

Polyfill – you could also use scrap yarn, or leave the antlers unstuffed.

Pom pom maker 1 ⅜ inch  – you could also use a fork or your fingers.

Glue Gun – pieces can also be sewn on

 

Pupil – Make two

Create a magic ring crochet 6 sc, join and tie off.

Eyes – Make two

Create a magic ring, crochet 6 sc

Ch1, *1scinc, 2sc* repeat once, join and tie off

 

Horns – Make two

Piece A:

Create a magic ring, crochet 6 sc, join to 1 sc.

Ch1, 1 sc in each sc around, join round. (6 sc)

Ch1, 1 sc in each sc around, join round. (6 sc)

Tie off

Piece B:

Create a magic ring, crochet 6 sc, join to 1 sc.

Ch1, 1 sc in each sc around, join round. (6 sc)

Ch1, 1 sc in each sc around, join round. (6 sc)

Ch1, 1 sc in each sc around, join round. (6 sc)

Ch1, Place Piece A in front of  Piece B and join the pieces together by 1 sc around both pieces in 3 stitches, continue the round with 1sc in each of the last 3sc of Piece B, join with slst into the 6th sc of Piece A. (6 sc)

Ch1, 1sc in the next 3 stitches of Piece A, 1 sc in the 3 stitches available on Piece B, join. (6 sc)

Ch1, 1 sc in each sc around, join round. (6 sc)

Ch1, 1 sc in each sc around, join round. (6 sc)

Tie off leaving a tail to sew pieces on.

Stuff horn loosely

 

Bauble

Create a magic ring, ch1, *1sc, 1dc* repeat x4, join round (8 stitches)

Ch1, *1dc, 1scinc* repeat x4, join round. (12 stitches)

Ch1, *1sc, 1dc, 1sc and 1dc in same st* repeat x4, join round (16 stitches)

Ch1, *1 dc, 1sc, 1dc, 1scinc* repeat x4, join round (20 stitches)

Ch1, *1sc, 1dc, 1sc, 1dc, 1sc and 1dc in same st* repeat x4, join round. (24 stitches)

Ch1, *1dc, 1sc, 1dc, 1sc, 1dc, 1scinc* repeat x4, join round. (28 stitches)

Ch1, *1sc,1dc,1sc,1dc,1sc,1dc, 1sc and 1dc in same st* repeat x4, join round. (32 stitches)

Ch2, *1dc,1sc* repeat x16, join round. (32 stitches)

Ch1, *1sc,1dc,1sc,1dc,1sc,1dc,1sctog* repeat x4, join round. (28 stitches)

Ch2, *1dc,1sc,1dc,1sc,1dc,1sctog* repeat x4, join round. (24 stitches)

Ch1, *1sc,1dc,1sc,1dc,1sctog*  repeat x4, join round. (20 stitches)

Put Bauble inside work.

Ch2, *1dc,1sc,1dc,1sctog* repeat x4, join round. (16 stitches)

Ch1, *1sctog, 1dc,1sc* repeat x4, join round. (12 stitches)

Tie off and weave in end.

Assembling the Bauble.

 

  • Sew or hot glue the pupils to the bottom portion of the eyes. Set Aside
  • Use your preferred method of creating a small pom pom; create a pom pom with the red and set aside.
  • Sew the horns to the sides of bauble about a quarter length from the top.
  • Using the horns as a reference, hot glue or sew the eyes  to the bauble. 
  • Using the eyes as a reference, hot glue or sew the nose to the bauble.
  • Thread a needle with the white thread, sew a white line a few times, in same spot, on each eye, to give a “sparkle” to the eyes.
